The release from the CBI states that at 11:30 p.m. La Junta Police were called to the 1100 block of Smithland Avenue where officers discovered two adults and two children who had been shot.
The two adults and one of the children were found dead on scene, and the second child was transported to a Denver-area hospital where they were later pronounced dead, according to the release.
The CBI has yet to release the names of any of the deceased.
