The weekend is set aside for New Year's Eve festivities in Colorado, including two firework shows and fireworks in downtown Denver. The final Mile High Drone Show of the season will be held on Dec. 31, with an 11-minute show starting at 7 p.m. and ending at midnight. The Children's Museum in Denver will host a Noon New Year’s Eve event featuring ball drops on the hour and music, treats, and more. The 35th annual Zoo Lights will feature over 3 million lights and animated light sculptures at the Denver Zoo in which more than 3 million people are expected to decorate the zoo's 80 acres with lights and sculptures for the event. An Ice Castles exhibition in Silverthorne and Cripple Creek is set up at Outlets at Silverthorn. The Denver Museum of Nature & Science & History & History has also opened its temporary exhibition "The Secret World of Elephants," which marks the first stop on the national tour of the exhibition.
