Planning to dabble in Colorado Springs’ rich craft beverage scene this weekend, or anytime through the end of the year, then why not score some deals and cool swag while you’re at it?

Visit Colorado Springs’ Crafts & Drafts Passport is back for its eighth year, to support the local craft community by baiting the hook with an array of discounts and freebies.

A host of libation purveyors, old standards and newer additions to the Springs are participating this year, most in buy one, get one style.

Voodoo Brewing Co., which opened last year on Garden of the Gods Road, is offering a free flight of beer with the purchase of any food or beverage.

Buy a cocktail, get a second, at Axe and the Oak Distillery, 3 Hundred Days, Distillery 291 and 1350 Distilling. Similar drink deals can be found at a slew of local craft taprooms and breweries, including Bristol, Whistle Pig, Metric and OCC brewing companies.

Passport participants must be at least 21 years old, but businesses aren’t all alcohol forward, with deals also running at BLK MGK Coffee and Pikes Peak Lemonade.

New to the passport this year: Three free 20-minute rides on a PikeRide Electric Bike Share bike.

“So if you want to go a different route than driving, experience (the passport) in a different way,” said Melissa Williams, VisitCOS’ director of marketing.

Those familiar with Crafts & Drafts know food and drink deals aren’t the only things to which the passport grants (potential) access.

This year's iteration comes with a campy theme aimed at channeling a throw-back vacation season vibe. All it takes is two check-ins at different participating businesses for passport holders to earn a scout-style merit patch celebrating their achievement, be it for brews, mixed-drinks, coffee or wine.

“Everyone has nostalgic summer camp memories … or of scouts,” Williams said. “The patches are vintage, retro artwork, with these fun little characters that people can kind of attach themselves to, and find their favorite.”

Go to Visitcos.com/dining-nightlife to sign up for the passport, then check in at the more than 20 participating businesses to access the deals and earn points for the aforementioned swag. Deals are good through Dec. 31, 2024.
